Our advanced Click Chemistry Coating Technology
Archer Biolabs takes advantage of highly efficient click chemistry to coat bio-macromolecules as well as small molecules or drugs to a surface and offers a solution for almost every coating issue. The proprietary technology is based on techniques for binding biologically active molecules to a surface through a carrier reagent. In the first step, the carrier reagent is coated to a surface for example a microplate or a microbead, followed by click-chemical coupling of the biologically active molecule to the carrier reagent precoated surface.
The new Click Chemistry Coating Technology overcomes the current limitations of unspecific direct coating, which can result in protein inactivation, epitope blocking, nonspecific interference, low binding density and low coating stability. Moreover, click-coating provides a straightforward and universal process to coat highly diverse molecules to a variety of surfaces like slides, tubes, microplates, microbeads/magnetic beads, nanoparticles and to such different materials as plastic, glass, metal, or ceramic. Even sensitive bio-macromolecules as well as small molecules or drugs can be coated with high stability and density in a straightforward and very robust process. The importance of click-chemistry for efficient biomolecule coupling was recognised in the Nobel Prize 2022 of the scientists Sharpless, Bertozzi and Meldal.
